Q. Why use limestone paving around a pool?

Q. What is the benefit of waterproofing the paving?
A. The waterproofing is added to
repel salt water and chlorine penetration and to ensure
colour fastness.

Q. Will Arena Stone be suitable for around a pool?
A. The pattern is a unique anti
slip texture, especially when wet, yet gentle on young
sensitive skin and swimwear.

Q. Because the paving has a waterproof agent added do I still need to seal the paving?
A. The waterproofing reduces the
likelihood of limestone drawing moisture from the
atmosphere, ground water or dew. It does not protect it from
staining as a result of a spills, oil or fertilizer.

Q. Do I need to wash the paving prior to sealing?
A. For best results when applying
a sealer have them washed with a degreasing agent to take of
any residue oil so the sealer can penetrate into the paver
and reduce the likelihood of the sealer pealing.

Q. When should I seal the paving once it has been laid?
A. It depends on the product you
use to seal the paving. Arena Stone recommend getting a
professional applicator to apply the best product to suit
the environment in which you live.

Q. Some of the pavers appear to have a darker patch in the
centre?
A. This is quite normal depending
on the moisture content of the paving. Over a period of time
the paver will dry out and weather.

Q. The paving has signs of white marks on the surface?
A. This is a natural phenomenon
that occurs in all cement based product, it is called
Efflorescence. This is a by-product of the curing process.
It appears more on darker colours than lighter natural
colours. It is not permanent and will disappear with time.

Q. Will the paving fade over a period of time?
A. Arena Stone has been used in
Australia since 1992 & comprehensive weather tests have
proven it’s ability to withstand the extremes of Australian
climatic conditions.

Q. Can the paver compact the pavers to get them level once
they have been laid?
A. This practice is not
recommended as it will only lead to the pavers chipping or
cracking. It is standard practice that the installer ensures
each paver is level as they are being laid.

Q. Can the paving be used for driveways?
A. Arena Stone produce a 60mm
paver especially for driveways. The paving has been strength
tested in accordance with Australian standards (32.8Mpa).
